Daily Service

​

1. Clean external surface

2. Inspect unit for emanation, damage, or wear. If fault is found, do not use swivel until unit is repaired and/or replaced.

3. Grease bearings. Unit should be ran for one hour prior to applying grease. Grease should exit out of the top housing seal (1JW-07)

Packing Replacement​

1. Loosen bolts on bail (1JW-02)

2. Remove Wearbushing (1JW-04), inspect and replace if needed​

3. Remove both packing rings (1JW-03)

4. Reverse steps 1 - 3. Be sure not to fasten gooseneck asymmetrical to Bearing Housing (1JW-08) when tightnening bolts.

Major Repair​

1. Remove both bolts from bottom of bail (1JW-02)

2. Remove Gooseneck (1JW-01), Packing (2JW-03), and Wearbushing (1JW-04)

3. Slide Bearing Housing (1JW-08) off bearing

4. Remove Housing Seals (1JW-07)

   • Top located at bottom of gooseneck​

   • Lower located at bottom of bearing housing

5. Take Bearing Spindle (1JW-05), Lower Connection (1JW-06), and Bearings (1JW-09) to vice

6. Unscrew bearing spindle from lower connection (left-hand thread)

7. Remove bearings from bearing spindle

8. Clean and inspect all parts of unit for damage or wear, replace if necessary

9. Push bearings onto bearing spindle

10. Thread lower connection back onto bearing spindle and tighten bearings

    • Bearings should lock together or should not be able to rotate independently

11. Replace housing seals in bearing housing and gooseneck

    • Lip seal should point towards top of swivel

12. Slide gooseneck onto bail

13. Slide bearings spindle, bearings, and lower connection in bearing housing

14. Place one packing into counter-bore of gooseneck and one into counter-bore of bearing spindle

15. Place wearbushing in-between packing

16. Tighten bolts on bail

    • Be sure not to fasten gooseneck asymmetrical to bearing housing when tightening bolts
